The Altar Guild: A Ministry of Beauty and Holiness

 

 

 

 

 

MISSION

The Altar Guild is the Philoptochos Ministry entrusted with the significant task of church beautification.  They are parishioners who serve God by caring for the sanctuary and everything in it. They are often unseen and unnoticed, but their ministry is essential for the smooth flow of worship and for creating an atmosphere of reverence. They work behind the scenes to decorate the icons for each feast, clean and polish the chalices and altarpieces, clean and maintain the vestments and linens, and prepare the prosphora (offertory bread for Holy Communion). These responsibilities play a crucial role in our church's spiritual environment. 

PARTICIPATION

The Altar Guild welcomes anyone who feels called to serve. No experience or special skills are necessary—just a willing heart and a desire to serve. Our ministry, currently made up of about 12 dedicated women, enhances our worship and honors God’s glory. We warmly invite you to join us!
