International Orthodox Christian Charities

MISSION

International Orthodox Christian Charities, in the spirit of Christ’s love, offers emergency relief and development programs to those in need worldwide, without discrimination, and to those who are suffering, to enable them to continue to improve their own lives and communities and to have means to live with dignity, respect, and hope.

IOCC represents Orthodox Christians in North America and understands its work to include developing in Orthodox Christians a commitment to philanthropy and global cooperative involvement in the work of the Orthodox Church.

IOCC is a member of the ACT Alliance, a global coalition of Christian churches and relief agencies engaged in development, humanitarian assistance, and advocacy, and InterAction, a coalition of U.S.-based non-governmental organizations that carry out humanitarian assistance programs overseas.

Since its inception in 1992, IOCC has provided over $600 million in emergency and disaster relief in more than 60 countries. Most recently, IOCC funded 11 wells in Tanzania, providing critically needed clean water to 24,900 people; provided fresh-food grocery cards to 9,000 vulnerable people throughout Athens, Greece; and supplied more than 402,700 displaced persons in Syria with hygiene kits, dignity kits, infant kits, bedding, kitchen sets, and clothing.
